The Mesquita in Cordoba. This has to be one of the most amazing buildings in the world- an Arab mosque, the biggest outside of Mecca, now transformed into a cathedral. There are almost 600 red and white striped arches which contrast in their beautiful simplicity and symmetry with the ornate decoration of the cathedral nave in the centre of the great square edifice.
